Midwives are health professionals who provide care and support during pregnancy, labour, birth, and until six weeks after the baby is born. Midwives view pregnancy as a state of health, and birth as an important and special experience. Under midwifery care, some pregnant people do not need to see a doctor.

You must be in the care of a midwife to give birth at the Birth Centre.

To find a midwife, call our Midwifery Intake line at 204-947-2422 ext. 307 or fill out the Midwifery Interest form below. Please note: You must live in Winnipeg and have a Manitoba Health Card or Federal Military Coverage in order to obtain a WRHA midwife.

The Birth Centre

Thanks to my amazing midwives and the staff at the Birth Centre for helping me through one of the hardest and most rewarding days of life.
